Ingredients:
- 2 pounds – Fresh green beans
- 6 slices – Bacon, cut into pieces
- 1 tablespoon – Salt
Directions:
- Snap the ends off the green beans, break into desired lengths. Place in large saucepan and cover with
water. Bring to a boil and reduce heat so it stays at a steady simmer, cook and stir occasionally for
about 1 hour. Add the bacon and salt to taste and continue to cook for about 30 minutes or until the
beans are tender. - If desired the green beans canned be canned after cooking for one hour, do not add the bacon, but do
add the salt. Process according to proper canning directions.
