Ingredients:

  • 4 quarts – String beans, fresh or canned
  • 1 cup – Sugar
  • 1 quart – Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons – Mixed spices

Directions:

  2. Wash fresh string beans. Remove strings. Cover with water to which 1/2 teaspoon salt has been added
    per quart. Cook until tender. Cover with a pickling syrup made of vinegar, sugar, and spices. Boil 10
    minutes.
